It is a privilege to be supporting the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network's second annual awards for emergent talent in the XR space. In an awards ceremony at fellow IUITN members Imagination's London HQ, it was mindblowing to see the talent on show, and wonderful to celebrate all the shortlisted entries as well as the winners of each of the six categories.
In addition to the category winners, there were also four Grand Prize Internships available, with two sponsored by ARCADE XR in partnership with the Wales Millennium Centre and the Storylab Research Institute. We were delighted to announce Bethan Hancock from the Royal College of Art and Mostafa Ebrahimi from the University of the Arts London as the two winners, and cannot wait to bring their brilliance and creativity to bear on the challenges we have lined up for them!
The awards are an incredibly important initiative designed to help close the skills gap between those wanting to enter the immersive industry and the SMEs hoping to employ them, and if the quality, creativity and technical ingenuity on display in the shortlisted projects is anything to go by, it is having a tremendous impact already in just its second year.
Congratulations to all involved, especially Asha Easton for her tireless work championing the network and the sector as a whole.
